What ages does The Ridge cater for?
We welcome children from six weeks to six years of age.
What are the operating hours?
The Ridge is open Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 6:00pm.
We are closed on weekends and public holidays.
Do the children receive meals?
Yes. All meals are prepared fresh on-site daily by our experienced, qualified chef.
We source organic ingredients wherever possible and provide morning tea,
lunch, afternoon tea, and a late snack as required. Our menus are designed to meet
children's nutritional needs at every stage of development and are approved
by the NSW Munch & Move program.
Are nappies provided for babies and toddlers?
Yes, nappies are provided. You are also welcome to supply your own if you prefer a specific brand
How do I find out more about The Ridge Preschool and Childcare Centre?

What happens after I submit an enquiry form online?
Once we receive your enquiry, our team will contact you to discuss your child's individual needs, confirm current availability, and guide you through the next steps. If no vacancies are currently available, we will add your child to our waitlist and contact you as a place becomes available.
How do I enrol at The Ridge?
We recommend beginning with a centre tour so you can meet our educators and see the environment your child will be in. Our Centre Manager will walk you through the enrolment process, answer your questions, and ensure you feel confident every step of the way. Enrolment can also be completed online.
How is the waitlist managed?
Our waitlist is reviewed regularly and families are contacted as soon as a suitable place becomes available. Priority is allocated in accordance with government guidelines. If you wish to be removed from the waitlist at any time, please contact us directly.
Can I view what my child is doing at the centre?
Yes. We use the Xplor centre management system, which includes the Xplor Home app for families. Through the app you can receive updates, photos, and information about your child's daily experiences in
Can I enrol online?
Yes, online enrolment is available. We also strongly encourage families to visit the centre in person beforehand. A tour gives you the opportunity to meet our team, ask questions, and feel fully informed before completing your enrolment.
How much does it cost to send my child to The Ridge Preschool and Childcare Centre?
Our daily fees are as follows, prior to any government subsidies being applied:

0 -- 2 years: $172.30 per day

2 -- 3 years: $161.40 per day

3 -- 6 years: $157.30 per day
A non-refundable administration fee of $125 applies once enrolment is accepted. Most families pay significantly less than the above rates after CCS and Start Strong funding are applied.
What government rebates and benefits are available to families?
The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is an Australian Government payment that reduces the cost of childcare for eligible families. Eligibility is based on family income, activity level, and the type of care used. To check your eligibility, visit servicesaustralia.gov.au or call 136 150.
Eligible families with preschool-aged children may also receive additional fee relief through the NSW Government's Start Strong program. Please speak with our team or visit our Fees & Enrolment page for more information.
What if our family or a friend’s family is experiencing financial hardship?
Families experiencing temporary financial hardship may be eligible for up to 13 weeks of additional government support. Please speak confidentially with our Centre Manager to discuss your circumstances and explore what options are available to you.
What happens if a scheduled day falls on a public holiday?
The Ridge is closed on public holidays. Fees are payable for all public holidays that fall on a scheduled day of attendance.
Do fees still apply if my child is sick?
Yes, fees apply on sick days. The Child Care Subsidy covers up to 42 absence days per year without documentation. Unlimited additional sick days are covered if a medical certificate or equivalent documentation is provided.
What is your holiday discount policy?
Standard fees apply to all absences that fall on a scheduled day of attendance. However, The Ridge offers a 25% holiday discount for up to four weeks per financial year. Written notification must be provided at least two weeks in advance, and fee payments must be up to date at the time of application.
What do I need to pack in my child's bag?
When your child starts at The Ridge, we will provide you with a detailed orientation pack outlining everything you need to bring each day. As a general guide, please include:

A sun-safe hat covering the face, neck, and ears

A change of clothes

Bibs if required

A comfort item if required (toy or blanket)

A dummy in a sealed, labelled container if required

Bottles and expressed milk if required

A labelled water bottle or sippy cup

Any required medications, to be handed directly to centre staff on arrival
Please label all items clearly, including socks.
Do I need to pack lunch or snacks?
No. We provide morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea daily. You do not need to pack any food.
Do I need to pack sunscreen?
No. As a sun-safe service we supply child-appropriate sunscreen. If your child has sensitive skin, you are welcome to provide your preferred brand and we will use it accordingly.
What support is available for children with additional needs?
We are committed to inclusive practice and welcome children of all abilities. Our team has experience supporting children with a range of needs including allergies, developmental considerations, physical requirements, and behavioural support. Please speak with our Centre Manager prior to or at enrolment so we can work together to create the best possible experience for your child.
