At The Ridge Preschool & Childcare Centre, play and nature are not add-ons.They are foundational to how children learn and grow.
Our curriculum reflects our belief that childhood should be meaningful, connected, and unhurried.

Play as a Pathway to Deep Learning
Through play, children develop:
confidence and independence
social and emotional skills
creativity and problem-solving
a strong sense of identity
Educators observe and extend learning through intentional interactions that support each child’s development.
Nature as a Powerful Teacher
Nature offers children opportunities to take risks, build resilience, and feel grounded.
Outdoor learning supports physical wellbeing, emotional regulation, and a sense of connection to the world. Our program intentionally integrates nature-based experiences every day, recognising the environment as a powerful teacher.
Reflective, Intentional Teaching
Our educators reflect on children’s learning to plan experiences that are purposeful and meaningful.
This reflective approach ensures learning is not rushed or superficial, but deeply connected to children’s interests and developmental needs.
Preparing Children for Life, Not Just the Next Step
Our focus is not early academics.
We support children to become confident, capable learners who feel secure in themselves and connected to others. These foundations prepare children not just for school, but for life.
